Flaviana Matata beauty doll..have you seen it?

This is quite interesting. I came across these photos of Flaviana's doll over at Miss beauty doll.com and couldn't wait to share them with you guys.

You probably might have seen them, may be not, but for me its the first time seeing them. I like the doll, very pretty but I am trying to figure out if the doll resembles Flaviana. The really Flaviana doesn't have, wear her hair long. But at least she has her on doll. Your thoughts??? Also on other news, Flaviana is currently in New York. On Wednesday Feb 3rd, She accompanied Music Mogul, hip-hop pioneer, entrepreneur and co-founder of Def Jam Russell Simmons to the Hublot and African Wildlife Foundation Auction Dinner at American Museum of Natural History in New York City.

All I can say is she is working that one-shoulder floor length Versace dress with an asymmetrical neckline. I love the gold trim on the neckline and on the waistband. She looks very pretty in it, and I love the fact she went for very minimal make up with nude lips. Work it girl.

Rebecca Taylor, Custo Barcelona, Milly,Tracy Reese Fall /Winter 2010 inspiration and sketches and more....
Rebeca Taylor Fall 2010 collection:

For Fall 2010 Collection Rebecca Taylor was inspired by a mixture of 70’s Parisian attitude and an urban New York City girl. With a renewed love for classic sportswear, silhouettes have been re-worked with a twist to give subtle edge on signature feminine designs. The palette includes dusty hues and new neutrals contrasted with military olives and hints of old gold. Fabrics are washed to provide a worn, overly-loved appeal and are combined with cashmere wool suits, leopard faux furs and down quilted coats, together giving this collection an affordable luxe quality.
Custo Barcelona Fall 2010 collection:

For his Fall 2010 collection Custo Barcelona's inspiration came from the extreme beauty and inexplicable attraction of jewels. Gems and precious stones serve as the basis for the production of a very colorful, bright and cheerful collection. The core of Custo Barcelona’s ideology is to present the consumer with new and unique designs, so we are always evolving our graphics, prints and color palettes to present new, exciting fashions.
Tracy Reese Fall 2010 collection:

“An eclectic mix of urban and rural style makes for a very modern yet infinitely wearable fall 2010 collection. Rustic Prince of Wales checks, distressed faux fur and stretch suede styles are softened by cosmetic toned lingerie and made cozy by soft alpaca sweaters.”

Catherine Malandrino, Milly and Elie Tahari Fall/Winter 2010 sketches.
Catherine Malandrino Fall/Winter 2010:
Malandrino’s Fall 2010 collection is inspired by looking to the world.. everything from different cultures mixed... to create in my mind the most unexpected silhouette.
Milly Fall /Winter 2010:
Milly Fall/Winter 2010 collection is inspired by "the artsy, chic girls of Paris’ Left Bank in a combination of luxe fabrics, clever techniques and cool attitude.
Elie Tahari Fall/Winter 2010:
My Fall collection is a homage to the great women who traveled the globe in style- Elie Tahari

Here is one of the many reasons to be excited about Spring, the new Valentino Spring Summer 2010 shoe collection. These heels are absolutely breath taking and I am in love .The heels look very delicate but elegant and edge at the same time. The lace detailing gives them a very romantic feeling. Wouldn't be nice if get myself a pair of the one below just on time for Valentine? I love being romantic (hopeless) and feeling sexy. You are cordially invited to....FACE AFRICA 1st Annual Gala

Last week's favorite people/things I mentioned a little bit about FACE Africa, a non profit organization founded by none other than the fabulous Saran Jones Kaba in 2007. As I mentioned, she is among the many ( or I could say few) African sisters who truly inspire me. Today I want to inform you about FACE Africa first annual gala for clean water that she is putting together to benefit her native country, Liberia. For many of you out there who haven't heard about it or have no idea what FACE Africa first annual gala is all about, please read below and don't forget to check out FACE Africa site more information.
FACE Africa first Annual Gala will take place on Saturday, March 20th at the Taj Boston to raise funds and also awareness of our clean water initiatives in Liberia. Proceeds from the event will go towards the installation of multiple water purification systems and the distribution of PUR, Procter & Gamble’s point-of-use water purification system.
The black-tie optional event will feature a cocktail reception, 3-course dinner, entertainment and silent auction. It is also an opportunity for FACE Africa to honor an outstanding individual who has dedicated himself or herself to improving the quality of life for the people of Africa and beyond. This year we are privileged to honor Peter Thum, Founder of Ethos Water and former Vice President at Starbucks, for his dedication to raising awareness of the World Water Crisis.
The gala will be co-hosted by 7News Reporter Michelle Relerford with a keynote address by Greg Allgood, Director of Procter and Gamble’s Children’s Safe Drinking Water program. Other key-note figures will include Liberian Ambassador to the United States M. Nathaniel Barnes and NBA Global Ambassador Dikembe Mutombo.
A portion of the proceeds from the Gala will go directly to Partners In Health, an organization that brings modern medical care to poor communities in nine countries around the world including Haiti, where they have been working for 20 years.
Tickets are $125 for balcony seating and $250 for floor seating and may be purchased at: http://www.faceafrica.org/events.htm.
You can learn more about FACE Africa by visit faceafrica.org .
Here is a photo of Saran and myself taken two weeks ago at a party in Manhattan.

My outfit: Vintage dress worn with YSL Tribute too pumps.
Saran's outfit: Herve Leger bandage dress worn with nude pumps. By the way, her Herve Leger game is tight, make me one hijack her closet. Stay tuned for our interview with the fabulous Saran. We love her!
Don't forget to buy you ticket if you would like to attend FACE Africa 1st gala.

David Tlale Autumn/Winter 2010 presentation

One thing I would say about this presentation is he definitely delivered this time. For Autumn/Winter season David presented us a collection titled Fantastical Structures which was inspired by architecture. The collection had beautiful tailored piece constructed in a very complex way which included bold exaggerated shoulders, intricate embroidery of crystals, beads and stones, sequins, metallic pieces in bronze, gold and silver, muted color palette. I especially love all the floor length gowns especially the red sequined gown and the black number with intricate crystals and beadings on the front of the dress and the of course the lavender gown. I also love all the metallic pieces presented on this collection. Absolutely a great collection from him. Bravo David..bravo!

Who was your best dressed at the Grammys last night?

Beyonce in Stephane Rolland, Ciara in Givenchy couture, Jeniffer Hudson in Victoria Beckham, Keri Hilson in Dolce and Gabbana, Rihanna in Elie Saab couture and Tony Braxton in David Miester gown

Ashanti in Tony Ward , Fergie in Emilio Pucci, Mary J Blige in Fuschia Gucci dress, Lady Gaga in Armani Prive and Fiona in Christian Siriano gown.
I am a big Lady Gaga fan and I love everything she puts on. I see her as a piece of art, she is fashion. But I think all the ladies looked so amazing. I loved ,loved so much Jennifer Hudson's Victoria Beckham black peplum dress. Great choice for her. Did you see Beyonce acknowledging her husband? Oh I thought that was soo cute . By the way, I missed Kanye West and Amber Rose at last Grammys. I love seeing their fashions. My best dressed of the night was Rihanna. I loved loved her Elie Saab dress from Fall Couture 2009. It was a perfect dress for the Grammys and her hair and make up looked on point. So who was your best dressed at the Grammys last night?

Kanye West and Amber Rose Paris Haute Couture week....someone please help hijack Amber Rose boots!

I am sure most of you guys have seen Kanye West and Amber Rose photos already. I truly like this couple, I love Amber Rose's amazing body and I think she is very pretty. I could tell from these pictures everything about her is daring and only her could pull off the shredded black dress worn over a nude colored bodysuit. This is what happened when you have Kanye West as your stylist. But I guess since it was fashion week it was okay for her to wear the dress. You know what they say, If you really want to get photographed during fashion week you must / need to dress completely over the top and it sure did work for her. Did you guys like any of her looks?? which one was your best ? Here are the THREE things I would like for my self from these looks; Her Chanel gold hooded dress just because I feel like I would look really fly in it than her (say something). I would also like to have her black frock completely with the Givenchy studded sandal heels for my self. Of all the looks she wore to couture week this look was by far the most polished look for her. The last thing I have been dying to do is to hijack her Burberry Prorsum boots. Gosh she has been photographed with these boots like a hundred times. Enough of the boots already. She needs to throw them this way, my way. I am really getting tired of seeing her in them boots.

So which look was your best Amber Rose Paris Haute Couture look??

Versace shoes are calling my name...
A Girl Can Never Have Enough Shoes....

These Varsace babes are definitely calling my name. Honestly how do you even try to resist these babes? I know someone would say I have enough shoes but I don't think they are enough to satisfy my desire. Buying shoes is a hobby of mine. I actually don't just buy shoes, I collect shoes. The new Versace shoes are to die for. That's why I need to add a pair of these babes to my collection. The last three are my faves. I want.

Favorite people/things # 2

Some of the many African sisters who truly inspire me. (L-R) Adiat Oluwagbemisola who is the founder of Adiree Fashion Agency and creator of Africa Fashion Week New York, skip me, my lil sister Gpho who is my number one supporter, Saran Jones Kaba who is the founder of Face Africa and co-founder of Boston Fashion Expose(stay tuned for our interview with Saran), Veronica Rovegno who works for a Magazine, Bisila Bokoko who is the Executive Director of Spain-US Chamber of Commerce

She is also my number one supporter. We cry together, laugh together, act like fools together, she tells me like it is whether I like it or not (Yaani ananizodoa, ananipasha, ananichekesha, ananipenda, ananipigania, ananiliwaza, na kushauri).
She is my Veggie and together we are Veggie and Spice. PS, Veggie has this cool site called Idiot Blvd. Check it out.

African canvas painting, a surprise present from my beau.. He thinks I look like the woman on the painting.

Whether you buy them expensive or affordable, you must have Pearls.

Taking you back to the world famous disco, Studio 54

Dear Christian Dior, I would love to inform you that I don't accept checks or cash. Instead, I will take ten pairs of shoes from your new Spring/Summer 2010 collection. You are welcome.

My Dad once told my little sister to eat a lot of Matoke if she wants to have sexy legs aka haya legs (mguu wa kihaya), beer legs (mguu wa beer). Matoke is a meal consisting of steamed green plantain sometimes mixed with goat meat or beef, vegetables such as beans especially white beans and fish.

I love Dumbo.
